Artist Bio

Vivian Fernandes, better known by his stage name Divine (often stylized as DIVINE), is a rapper from Mumbai, India. He went to St. John The Evangelist School Marol and studied at R. D. National College. He started to gain popularity after the release of his single Yeh Mera Bombay. He broke through to mainstream success following the release of his song Mere Gully Mein featuring fellow Mumbai rapper Naezy.

Early Life

Divine started his career as an underground rapper in 2011. He first started rapping in English. However, it was later suggested by a close friend, mentor and Toronto Rapper, Gangis Khan aka Camoflauge, to switch to Hindi verses.

He was part of the hip hop crew called Mumbai’s Finest. He believes in authenticity when making Hip Hop music and mostly raps about his own life experiences, such as the life of the poor people in Mumbai and his upbringing with a single mother.
